Petrified Forest National Park!

Hello there! It's Liana, and I'm stoked to be sharing some images taken at Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona! On my drive home from the canyon, I knew I had to stop and cross the last National Park in AZ off my list. Petrified Forest is the perfect drive-through park! From the Rainbow Forest Museum and Visitor Center to the Painted Desert Visitor Center lies 26 miles of gorgeous landscapes, and plenty of places to stop along the way! I wish I would have had more time to actually hike some of the paved paths, but I know that I will be back to do so at some point in my life!

Just to give a little history of the park, it was established in 1906 to protect one of the world's largest and most colorful deposits of petrified wood. The fossil record contained in this geologic layer gives a closer look at the late Triassic Period. This color sediment, also known as the Painted Desert, spans the 28-mile journey through the park. --- Just a heads up, this was printed on my stickers I purchased at the park; not trying to get in trouble for plagiarizing! Check out the photos below! :)

Saguaro National Park!

Good evening friends! Liana here, continuing my blogging about my travels to Tucson a couple of weeeks ago! Today's post is about my adventure in Saguaro National Park, which is actually divided by the city of Tucson. Mindy, Chelsea and I visited the east side of the park, which is the one they live closest too! Fun fact, Mindy's mom (basically my second mom!) married her husband in the park! Can you say goals?!

Anyway, entrance into the park is cheaper than most, with a car being $15, and each individual person is only $5! We started off by walking along the 8-mile loop drive in the park. After about 2 miles, we turned back around and hopped in the car to hit our destination for sunset! We decided to drive to Douglas Spring Trailhead, which has a lot of great trails running from it. Sunset was coming fast, so we didn't hike too far on the trail, but we did get some amazing photos, and Mindy and Chelsea found a new hiking path! Check out all the fun photos below! :)

A Big Move!

Hello everyone! It's Liana, checking in with a short, sweet, and to-the-point blog post. Many of you who read the blog, follow our page, and like our posts on Instagram, are good friends or family and have seen this announcement. However, for those of you who don't know, or aren't my friend on facebook, here we go! (well, after a little bit of backstory!)

Back at the beginning of November, I was looking for something new. This year has been rough, especially career wise (not talking about K&L Photography!). I work several jobs to make ends meet, and I wasn't feeling very challenged/fulfilled with them. As many of you know, I love to travel, and the National Parks hold a special place in my heart. I regularly check Xanterra's website (a hospitality company that operates out of several national parks) for anything that I may be qualified for. Well, a posting from October was up for the Grand Canyon, a retail associate (full time, with benefits). I thought, "Well, what the hell. Let's go ahead and apply and see what happens." So I went ahead and applied! A week later, I received an email for a phone interview. After that interview, I waited a week to hear back. The Monday before Thanksgiving, I received the job offer! Of course, I weighed this for a while, and spoke to Katie about it before moving forward with the acceptance email.

All in all, what does this mean? This means that in January, I will be moving to The Grand Canyon for six months! Why only six months you ask? Well, because I have a lot of family and friends back here, and of course my lovely puppies! I can't leave them for too long. I decided that six months was the perfect amount of time to decide if this is something that I would consider doing full-time. I'm very excited to start this adventure, and you can bet there will be a lot of posts involving my travels! Don't worry though, this is not going to take away from the business. Katie and I will still be running the business, blogging every week, and taking photo sessions! Please wish me well with this new adventure!
