Announcement from Liana

Hello everyone! It’s Liana here, and I have a little bit of an announcement to make, so bear with me!

I need to start by saying that I absolutely LOVE weddings. I love photographing them, helping out the day of, and the whole process leading up to the wedding day. So naturally, when I found a job opening at Complete Weddings + Events for a Marketing Manager position, I immediately filled out the application. Once applied, I waited patiently to hear back from them. Three days later, I received an email to set up a first interview, and the rest flew by fast.

Last Thursday, I was offered the position out of 300 resumes, 20 first round interviews, and 4 second interviews, and I accepted.

I’m sure you’re all wondering why I’m taking time to tell you all of this, and I don’t blame you! The reason I’m explaining this to you all is because per conditions of my new role, I was required to sign a non-compete clause. What this means is past the two remaining weddings we have for 2019, I will no longer be able to photograph weddings. Now, this does not mean that K&L Photography will no longer cease to photograph weddings; it just means that the L part of the name is no longer there. Katie and I discussed this decision at length, way before my initial interview with Complete. Katie understood and agreed that she should still continue to run the business.

Again, let me stress that for our two October weddings, I will still be there! I explained this to the company and they allowed me to grandfather those two weddings in. I will still be editing photos and connecting with our current brides and grooms. However, as of October 20th, I will no longer be photographing weddings.

This was a tough choice, but the right one. This job opportunity is much more than just a paycheck to me; it’s what I want to do in terms of my career. I thank you all for your support, and again, Katie will be taking over all social media, emails, etc.!

Thank you <3

Lebbing Wedding Sneak Peek

Good evening everyone! Katie and Liana here, and we’re thrilled to be sharing a sneak peek of Keith and Annie’s wedding from this past Saturday! Keith and Annie have known each other for a long time, have two boys together, and on Saturday, they made their commitment to each other official by saying “I Do!”. It was chilly, but there was no rain in sight, plus everyone was in high spirits! We’ll continue to share more images as we edit them, so make sure you follow along on Facebook and Instagram! For now, check out some sneak peeks below :)

Chris & Katy <3

Hello everyone! It's Liana, and I'm going to cut to the chase; Katie and I are PUMPED for the upcoming months! We have a TON of engagements, weddings, and family sessions coming up! This summer I plan on traveling to several different locations around the Southwest, so we'll have some great travel posts as well! Are you getting excited?! You should be!! For now though, we're going to continue throwing it back to some older sessions ;)

We're going back to 2013 today, featuring the gorgeous wedding of Chris and Katy! They are such a fun-loving couple, and are completely in love with each other! Check out their beautiful photos below <3

Ahlquist Wedding!

Hi everyone! It's Liana here, and let me begin by apologizing for the late post! I could not get my wifi to work last night, AT ALL! So here I am, a day late, but better than never!

Today we are kicking it back to the summer of 2013! This wedding was the introduction to Unity Village, which would become a favorite spot of ours over the years! The Ahlquist wedding was a big wedding, but an absolute blast! Going over our old wedding images is giving us excitement for our upcoming weddings! We can't wait until this summer/fall! But for now, check out all the fun photos below!

Adam & Julie: Married!

Hey everyone! Liana here, and for the next couple of weeks, we're going to be throwing it back to some of our older weddings/sessions that haven't been featured on the blog! First up is one of my all time favorite weddings: Adam and Julie's!

As many of you know, The Braundmeier family has had their photos taken by us for a very long time! Morgan and I went to high school together, and I started photographing her and Aaron's son, Chase, when he was just 5 months old! Ever since then, I've photographed birthday parties, family sessions, and of course, Adam and Julie's engagement session and wedding! These are STILL some of my favorite images, and it's been almost four years! I will always love this wedding and the Braundmeier family for welcoming me with open arms!

Take a look at the wonderful photos below!

Love on the Brain!

Hello everyone! Liana here, and whether you celebrate V-Day or Me-Day, let me say I hope you have a great one tomorrow! I know I'll be celebrating with some chocolate and retail therapy ;)

Today's post is focused on our favorite photos from the past couple of weddings we've done! We wanted to share the love, so to speak! Some of these are detail photos (can't forget those), but the majority are the moments between the bride and groom that we absolutely love to capture <3

Katie and I are looking forward to all of the wonderful weddings we get to capture this year as well! We have Alyssa and Eric's wedding in June, and Annie and Keith's wedding in November! Also a bunch of engagement sessions for next year's weddings! We love your continued support and referrals; it means the world to us! <3

Kristen & Spencer: Sneak Peek!

Hey guys! Liana here, checking in after an extremely long day! I wanted to get this blog post out quickly, so I apologize if there's not much to it!

I've know Kristen and Spencer for about ten years now, meeting them in high school. That's also when their romance started <3 So when we all ran into each other last year at the gym, it was almost fate that they were engaged! Their wedding was nothing short of perfect, and showcased their personalities everywhere. Check out some sneak peek photos below!

Check back next week for Ember's newborn session!

Jane&Joey: Married!

Hello everyone, and Happy Halloween! It's Liana here, checking in to share a full blog post of Jane and Joey's wedding! Before I begin, there's been some changes to the K&L business! What are they, may you ask? Well, I am proud to announce that Katie and Beau gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on October 26th, 2017! Please welcome Ember Margaret Flickinger into the family! Katie and Ember are doing great, and are working on settling in at home! I'm thrilled to be photographing her newborn photos this upcoming weekend <3

We also ended our wedding season with an absolutely stunning fall party, celebrating Kristen and Spencer's marriage. No worries, that sneak peek will be coming next week! Lots of amazing blog posts coming up in the next few weeks, so make sure you keep checking back! Now, onto our main subject!

Katie and I first met Jane and Joey at the Mount Pleasant Wedding Show last September. They are such a fun loving couple, and we were ecstatic when they reached out to us for their engagement and wedding photos! Last October, Jane and Joey were willing to brave the early morning and met me for a sunrise engagement session in Old Town St. Charles. It was great getting to know this adorable couple, their love for quirky things, and of course, their love for each other. Jane and Joey were so laid back, that I knew their wedding would be a breeze!

October 8th was a beautiful day for October. It was sunny, with a high of 80 degrees. Jane and Joey held their ceremony and reception at Mount Pleasant Estates, and it was the perfect setting for their big day. They decided on a first look before the ceremony, and Joey's reaction was perfect! After they said their "I Do's" in a touching ceremony (with a lot of laughter and a little bit of tears!) it was party time! Their introduction song was perfect (ahem, Backstreet Boys!) and we moved straight into toasts! The best man and maid of honor both gave great speeches, highlighting their friendships and how happy they were for Jane and Joey. Of course, after dinner, there was dancing, drinking, and cake! The best part was the sparkler send off to end the evening <3 Check out the photos below!

Jane & Joey: Sneak Peek!

Hi all! Liana checking in here, to share the most fun wedding I've had the pleasure of photographing! If you remember, Jane and Joey booked us last year after the Mount Pleasant Estates Wedding Show. We took their super adorable engagement photos last October, and this past Sunday they said "I Do!" Their wedding was true to them, and had the most perfect surprises for guests! Check out some of the photos, and make sure to keep watching the Facebook page for continuous updates!

Aren't they just the cutest couple you've ever seen?! I mean, SERIOUSLY. They. Are. Perfect! I cannot wait to continue editing these photos and reliving this gorgeous day/night <3
