Announcement from Liana

Hello everyone! It’s Liana here, and I have a little bit of an announcement to make, so bear with me!

I need to start by saying that I absolutely LOVE weddings. I love photographing them, helping out the day of, and the whole process leading up to the wedding day. So naturally, when I found a job opening at Complete Weddings + Events for a Marketing Manager position, I immediately filled out the application. Once applied, I waited patiently to hear back from them. Three days later, I received an email to set up a first interview, and the rest flew by fast.

Last Thursday, I was offered the position out of 300 resumes, 20 first round interviews, and 4 second interviews, and I accepted.

I’m sure you’re all wondering why I’m taking time to tell you all of this, and I don’t blame you! The reason I’m explaining this to you all is because per conditions of my new role, I was required to sign a non-compete clause. What this means is past the two remaining weddings we have for 2019, I will no longer be able to photograph weddings. Now, this does not mean that K&L Photography will no longer cease to photograph weddings; it just means that the L part of the name is no longer there. Katie and I discussed this decision at length, way before my initial interview with Complete. Katie understood and agreed that she should still continue to run the business.

Again, let me stress that for our two October weddings, I will still be there! I explained this to the company and they allowed me to grandfather those two weddings in. I will still be editing photos and connecting with our current brides and grooms. However, as of October 20th, I will no longer be photographing weddings.

This was a tough choice, but the right one. This job opportunity is much more than just a paycheck to me; it’s what I want to do in terms of my career. I thank you all for your support, and again, Katie will be taking over all social media, emails, etc.!

Thank you <3

Erica & Mazzie!

Hello everyone! Liana here, and I’m thrilled to finally be blogging again! Recently, I have been traveling for work, and going down to Memphis. Thankfully, Katie and I both have a friend, Erica, who lives down there! I’m sure you’ll remember her as soon as you see her, considering she’s been on the blog several times before!

As a thank you gift, I decided to take some photos of Erica and her cute little chihuahua, Mazzie (pronounced Maisie!). These photos turned out so well, and on top of a great thank you gift, it was a congratulations gift too! Erica just passed one of her hardest tests for her degree, so we wanted to celebrate! Check out all the cuteness below!

Vendor Hi-Lite: Boulevard Bride!

Hello everyone! Liana here, and as many of you know, I have been working with Boulevard Bride since last fall, which is a bridal boutique located in Lake St. Louis! I mostly photograph new arrivals and wedding dresses for upcoming trunk shows, as well as their beautiful prom reps for the 2019 prom season! However, today I am featuring Boulevard Bride as one of our preferred vendors for weddings! Jenn and her staff are some of the sweetest, most down-to-earth women I’ve met! Check out some of the beautiful gowns they have below!

All Together!

Hello everyone! Liana here, and I’m thrilled to finally be sharing this family session from Christmas Eve! I’ve been having some hard drive issues, but everything has been resolved, which means we’re back to regularly blogging on Tuesdays!

Cheryl and I met in 2017 through a networking group. We’ve kept in touch, and when she reached out about having her family all together for Christmas and wanting to capture it, I was more than happy to help! Not only were Cheryl and Wayne’s children all in town (including one who came from Saudi Arabia!), but her daughter, Mary, had her in-laws in town all the way from Germany! It was great getting to work with this big family, and I’m happy to say they absolutely loved their images! Check them out below!

2018 Thank You!

Good evening everyone! Katie and Liana here tonight, and we just wanted to take a few moments out of the day to thank every single one of you for your continued support of K&L Photography <3 This year was our biggest yet, but we’ve got a lot of plans up our sleeves for 2019, and we’re hoping for an even bigger one next year!

When prepping for this post, I asked Katie to type up a quick thank you. I just read hers, and it sums up my feelings perfectly!

“This year has been a very busy and great year! I just want to personally thank each and every one of you for your help in making our business succeed. I’ve enjoyed getting to know and photograph all of our new, and returning, clients. Each session is always different, and always a good time! Without you, none of this would be possible. So, thank you and have a great and safe NYE.”

We wanted to post an image from each of our sessions we had, just to remind ourselves how lucky we are to do what we love <3

Boulevard Babes!

Hello everyone! Liana here, and let me get straight to the point- this blog post is FIRE. But! Before I get to those, a little backstory is required :P Ever since I moved home from AZ, I’ve been working at Boulevard Bride, a PHENOMENAL wedding dress boutique. However, they also sell top-of-the-line homecoming, gala, bridesmaids, and prom dresses! Every year, Jenn (the owner) loves to promote the prom dresses, and has a bunch of girls from the high schools in the area be prom reps!

This past week we had our first Boulevard Babes prom rep photo session, and it was AH.MAZ.ING. We got access to an emptied out store, and had a blast with it! The setting was perfect and everything came together so smoothly! The girls were absolute pros, and rocked every single dress, pose, and challenge! Check them out below!

Venodr Hi-Lite: Spoil Me Sweetly!

Hello all! Liana here, and I’m super excited to be sharing this blog! For a while, Katie and I have been throwing the idea around of doing some posts specifically highlighting some of our favorite wedding vendors in both the STL and KC areas! I can’t promise that this is going to be a regular thing, but we are working on a list to go ahead and start getting together with some of our favorites!

Today we are featuring the amazing Spoil Me Sweetly, which is owned and operated by my good friend, Abby Benz! Abby started her business several years ago as a side project, considering she has a full time job and teaches as well! This year, Abby made it a point to make Spoil Me Sweetly a little more of a full-time priority, and joined a commissary bakery in Chesterfield, called The Bakers Hub! It opened early November, and has been a huge success! Abby has so much talent and creativity that she brings into every single work she does, whether it be a wedding cake, custom cupcakes, cookies, or even donuts! We love working with Abby, and plan to work with her early next 2019 for a styled wedding shoot!

If you are ever in the area, make sure to check out The Bakers Hub! Or, if you just have an event that needs some sweet treats, contact her directly! Abby is always willing to bring your vision to life in dessert form. Check out her work over at www.spoilmesweetly.com! For now, check out some work we did for her recently to help her get some professional images up on her website!

Introducing Annie & Keith Lebbing!

Good evening everyone! Sorry for the late post, but you know how hectic life can get around the holidays! It’s Liana here, and I know I’m speaking for both Katie and myself when I say we ended this year with a bang! Annie and Keith are one of the sweetest, most laid back couples we’ve ever worked with, and their wedding flew by! It was cold and windy, but Annie and Keith (or anyone else!) let it get them down! The best part of the day is when Annie and Keith saw their boys Shane and Lucas for the first time in their outfits! Their family photos in the cellars of Mount Pleasant will be some of our favorites for years to come <3 Check out all their perfect day below!

Meet The VanRonzelens!

Good evening everyone! Liana here, and I speak for both Katie and myself when I say we are THRILLED to be sharing Molly and Bill’s wedding with you tonight! Even though it was a cold and cloudy October 13th, the love that radiated between Molly and Bill warmed everyone around them. From their first look (which was absolutely magical, by the way!) to their perfectly said vows (read: I promise to keep true to Taco Tuesdays), down to their fun-filled reception, their day was absolutely perfect! We can’t wait to send their gallery to them later this week. Check out their beautiful day below! <3
